Harassment or Domestic Violence

We offer a prompt and sympathetic service to those suffering from domestic violence or harassment.

Sometimes a solicitor’s letter can help the situation. On other occasions, injunction proceedings can be taken through the County Court. Injunction Orders can require a person not to use harassment, threats or violence. However, in more extreme cases, an Injunction Order can also order the violent or abusive party to leave the home on a temporary basis or be excluded from a particular area.

If an Injunction Order is breached then this can lead to arrest and even imprisonment.

Where necessary, Injunction Orders can be obtained very urgently, sometimes without giving notice to the other party, to ensure that the court’s protection is in place before the abuser becomes aware of the court process.

It is also sometimes appropriate for the police to be asked to take action where there has been harassment or threatening behaviour or an assault. In these circumstances we can advise you as to your options and support you through the process.

The above information is intended to provide a general guide only. Advice as to your specific circumstances should always be taken.
