Notaries represent a separate branch of the legal profession (although the majority are also solicitors), and their practice as notaries is separate from that of solicitors.
Nigel Shaw practices as a Notary and is a member of the Notaries Society. Notarial work involves preparation and verification of documents that will be used in other countries, including foreign litigation.
Notarial work attracts both corporate and individual clients and may range from foreign property transactions, patent and trademark applications, through authenticating documents and taking evidence for use abroad as well as legalisation procedures involving both the Foreign Office and individual Embassies and Consulates for other countries.
